In March the Ribble Valley Conservative Association hosted a fund raising political dinner at the Shireburn Arms and welcomed Sir Iain Duncan Smith as the guest speaker. The event was attended by party members from Ribble Valley, Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle, along with others from outside the area. Sir Iain entertained the audience with tales from Westminster and Brussels, before moving on the more serious topics that included the Ukraine/Russia conflict, energy and working with Civil Servants. As a former leader of the party Sir Iain had some unique insights into the workings of government as well as foreign affairs.

A vote of thanks was given by Cllr David Peat the Association Chairman.
