Albert Atkinson, the President of Ribble Valley Conservative Association states: "I would like to offer my thanks and deepest gratitude to the Officers, Staff, Candidates and Councillors and Activist Members of of Ribble Valley Conservative Association who have all worked really hard to deliver this fantastic result. It is the first occasion we have taken all 6 County Council Divisions which make up the Constituency. It is a major achievement. Well done to all concerned."
On Saturday morning Albert was re-elected as the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on Lancashire County Council and thus becomes the the Deputy Leader of Lancashire County Council. Albert continues, "It is a great honour and a privilege to have such trust placed in me by my colleagues. After all the hard work in taking the County from the Labour/Liberal Democrat coalition that has led the County so disastrously for the last 4 years it is now time to get down to the even harder work of running the County as it should be reversing some of the unpopular decisions like library closures which have so disadvantaged Conservative Voting rural areas like the Ribble Valley. In the meantime Ribble Valley Conservative Association will be working hard to secure the re-election of Nigel Evans."
