Sue Hind Councillor for Edisford pictured holding a letter signed by County Councillor Keith Iddon who has the portfolio for Highways across Lancashire confirming that the Riverside roads in Low Moor Clitheroe need resurfacing and it will happen soon.
After a sustained campaign of battering the County Council by Sue Hind, the Cabinet member responsible for highways acknowledged in his letter that the roads in Riverside are suffering from neglect and that they need resurfacing which will happen soon.
Sue Hind commented ''I described Riverside as the Roads that Time Forgot'' which seemed to have struck a cord with the highways authority. It is important to recognise that the Ribble Valley Borough Council can only press the Lancashire County Council to fill potholes and repair roads. It is good to know that County Councillors listen to Borough Councillors who don't give up! We look forward to some of the extra £200 million allocated by government for roads and pot holes being spent in the Ribble Valley. Conservative controlled Lancashire County Council seems to be doing much better than Labour/Lib Dem controlled Cumbria where they have only filled 11,367 potholes compared with Lancashire's 50,446 potholes over the same period.
Sharing Sue’s delight for the residents of Riverside are the candidates for the revised Edisford and Low Moor ward in the forthcoming Borough elections, Maria Berryman and Peter Byrne, pictured with her.
