Nigel Pledges to Protect Our Countryside from Building

Keir Starmer in this week's TV debate and the Labour party on their own website have set out their plans to change our country’s planning laws to make building new homes on our beautiful open countryside easier.

Labour’s own website claims “we can’t build the homes Britain needs without also releasing some greenbelt”.

Commenting on this Nigel Evans said:

“This commitment by the Labour party is extremely worrying, the Ribble Valley is made up of beautiful greenbelt land that is wholly inappropriate to build on.

“I recognise the challenges that we face in the need to build more affordable housing, however we have to ensure that these homes are built on appropriate land and never on the open countryside landscapes of the Ribble Valley.

“I will always work to protect our countryside and will never support any form of building on greenbelt land. We cannot risk a Labour MP for the Ribble Valley and a Labour Government destroying our countryside and threatening to lose the greenbelt land that we all love”.
